AUSMAT I-Care Run 2018
This year, AUSMAT Sunway organised its second charity after the first one done in 2017 to commemorate its 30 years of excellence in Sunway College. More than 600 AUSMAT students and a few Diploma programme students participated as runners. AUSMAT students also served as volunteers in various areas such as first aid, photography, route marshal, registration and bazaar style booth sales. All profits raised from this event will be donated to (PAWS Animal Welfare Society). PAWS is a non-profit animal shelter in Petaling Jaya that has been in operation since 1987. They receive the surrender of unwanted dogs and cats which they will vaccinate, deworm, neuter/spay, and put up for adoption. Currently, there are over 500 dogs and cats under the care of the shelter. The shelter and all costs involved in running it are entirely funded by the generous donations of the public as well as proceeds from charitable events.
