Stars Of The AUSMAT Reign
As 2018 has come to an end, the Australian Matriculation (AUSMAT) students celebrated the completion of their Pre-University studies with their AUSMAT Night graduation ceremony held on the 8th of November 2018. After months of planning and preparation, it was a night to remember for both the lecturers and students.
It was an honour to have the presence of Mr. Michael Growder, the Deputy High Commissioner, Australian High Commission Kuala Lumpur. He was joined by other distinguished guests, lecturers and about 500 AUSMAT graduates as we celebrated their graduation and achievements. The night started off with the welcoming address by Ms Vanitha Satchithanadan, Director of AUSMAT, encouraging speeches by Ms Gail Taylor, Principal Consultant – International Education of the School Curriculum and Standards Authority, and Mr Teo Ee Sing, Executive Director.
Before dinner was served, guests were entertained by an energetic dance performance by the winners of AUSMAT Talent Time 2018, Darren and Chin Mun. The dynamic duo sure know how to get the crowd ready for the night with their sleek moves! As dinner was served, Samantha Laura John performed “If I Ain’t Got You”. The specially chosen song was dedicated to everyone, lecturers and friends, who played pivotal roles in bringing out the best of every AUSMAT graduate.
The night continued with a farewell video showcasing the numerous activities organised and participated by AUSMAT graduates throughout the year including our very successful I-Care Run. Yap Yi June, the President of Student Council 2018, also shared her valuable experience with everyone. It always warms the hearts of many to see how experiences, good or bad, helps one to grow to be an exceptional individual. Well done, Yi June
