Team MUFY Wins Runner-Up Prize in Legion Business Challenge

The Monash Foundation Year (MUFY) team - Jessie Koh Jie Xin, Matthew Chin Tze Ming and Ibrahim Adam Nashmee, led by their lecturer Mr Yong Kuan Chen, emerged as runners-up in the Legion Business Challenge 2018. They beat teams comprising working adults from corporate and accounting firms as well as postgraduate/undergraduate teams from universities across the country. The competition was organised by LegionRFBE (M) Sdn. Bhd.. 

Teams had to manage a $40-mil company over an 8-year period in a simulated market environment, making decisions across Strategy & Tactics. Financing, Product Pricing & Margins, Marketing, Product Quality, Production, Labour and Process Chain to gain competitive advantage. In the qualifying rounds, teams competed against 5 Artificial Intelligent (AI) teams and the top 4 teams battled through an exciting 8-hour long live competition held on 20 October 2018 in Pullman Hotel Bangsar.

The competition used the world-leading Capsim® experiential learning business simulation platform applied in American and European Universities and Corporations which provides a superior practical learning experience.

Deputy Minister for Rural Development Malaysia, YB Tuan Sivarasa Rasiah and Deputy Director General of Quality & Excellence, Malaysian Productivity Corporation, YBhg Tuan Hj Abdul Rahim Yusoff graced the awards ceremony.
