VU Girl’s Tenacity and Perseverance Receive VC Recognition

When the going gets tough, the tough get going.

Most of our students faced a challenging time undertaking their studies online during the Covid-19 pandemic, but for VU student Chan Pei Ying, she juggled more responsibilities than most as apart from studying for her final semester in 2020, she was also the primary caregiver and breadwinner of her family when her single parent mother was diagnosed with stage four colon cancer.

Pei Ying has recently been recognized by the VU Vice Chancellor Adam Shoemaker for her outstanding results of 18 High Distinctions and 6 Distinctions, a first-time ever achievement in Sunway’s Bachelor of Business Twinning Program with VU, Melbourne. “I am so thankful and happy in receiving this recognition. It proves that super hard work does pay off!” says Pei Ying.
