Young Investors Week 2023

Day 1 – September, 25

The first day of the event started off with the opening ceremony and the launch of the Xplorace event at the Observation Deck. SDS Director, Puan Norli delivered the opening speech and followed by a performance of beat boxers from Hot Box. Students with pre-assigned groups participated in the Xplorace. Upon completing the games at various stations, students were provided with various questions which required them to review topics they had learned in class. The first day was a success with students having fun and many provided positive feedback.

Day 2 – September, 26

On the second day, three accomplished and skilled remisiers from CGS-CIMB were invited to share their knowledge on stock investment. The first presentation was about the fundamental analysis by Tuan Muhammad Hazmi, followed by Tuan Shahrul Ezwan on the topic of technical analysis before the last speaker, Puan Suhaili covered the swing techniques in stock investment. Through these sharings, students had the opportunity to consider their investment direction based on their investment tendencies. The second day’s event was not only targeted at diploma students, but also opened to all SEG students and lecturers via live stream.

Day 3 – September, 27

The morning session started with a forum-style engagement session led by Ms. Natalie featuring Professor Dr. Yeah Kim Leng. This forum shared general knowledge about economics and business to help broaden students’ understanding of the influence of economics in the financial market. For the second session, students took part in a workshop on economic environment evaluation to better understand fundamental analysis based on economic factors which could influence stock investment decisions. Three groups were selected to present their findings. The closing ceremony was held at the end of the day where winners from various competitions were awarded with prizes. The event was made more memorable with two performances, one from SunU Dance Club members and another from Hot Box’s beat boxers.
