Amidst the bustling academic landscape, Sunway College proudly spotlights Cheryl Lee Xin Qian, a shining example of determination and excellence, as she receives the esteemed Special Subject Award in English as an Additional Language or Dialect for the Western Australia Certificate of Education (WACE) examination.

In a heartfelt gesture, Sunway College Australian Matriculation (AUSMAT) organised a special award presentation ceremony to honour Lee’s outstanding accomplishment.

Despite Lee’s absence from the official ceremony in Perth, her achievement has left a lasting impact on the Sunway College community, highlighting the college's unwavering commitment to recognising and celebrating student success across borders.

Lee reflects on her journey, saying, "I was truly saddened that I couldn't travel to Perth, but I was incredibly surprised and grateful that Sunway College presented me with such a meaningful recognition. My father, who witnessed my struggles and triumphs throughout the programme, felt immense pride today."

Additionally, Lee received the Special Subject Certificate of Excellence award for English as an Additional Language or Dialect. With an exceptional ATAR score of 98.95, she expressed deep gratitude toward her educators, who consistently went above and beyond to support her academic journey.

“It is not shameful to ask questions or let others know you need help. Only by acknowledging the gaps in my knowledge was I able to receive the guidance I needed to better understand the subject,” Lee advises.

In recognition of Lee’s achievement, Mr Bryce Green, Investment and Trade Commissioner for ASEAN from the Government of Western Australia, presented the award.

Deeply impressed by Sunway College’s dedication to support their students, Green commends, “The dedication and passion exhibited by Sunway College AUSMAT truly sets a standard for excellence in Malaysian education institutions.”
