A Graduation Ceremony to Remember

Sunway College Johor Bahru proudly held its Graduation Ceremony on 12 October 2024, at the Grand Ballroom of Holiday Villa Johor Bahru City Centre. The occasion marked not only the accomplishments of the graduating cohort but also the college's 20th anniversary, making it a truly special celebration.

The event brought together graduates from the ACCA and Diploma programmes, along with their proud families, friends, college staff and guests. Altogether, 770 attendees filled the ballroom.

A very special guest added further significance to the occasion as Yang Berhormat Datuk Ts. Mustapha Sakmud, Deputy Minister of Higher Education graciously attended the ceremony as guest of honour. In his speech, YB Deputy Minister acknowledged Professor Dato' Elizabeth Lee, CEO of Sunway Education and Mrs Hor Poh Choo, Principal of Sunway College JB as lecturers and mentors who played a significant role in his college years.

The presentation of certificates began with the ACCA graduates, whose achievements were acknowledged by Professor Dato' Dr Elizabeth Lee, followed by the presentation of certificates to the Diploma programme graduates by Principal, Mrs Hor. Two special awards were also presented to exceptional students from the Diploma programmes by YB Datuk Ts. Mustapha Sakmud:

• Overall Outstanding Achiever Award - Crystal Law Pui Pui

Student representative Crystal Law Pui Pui then delivered a speech, capturing the sentiments of her peers and reflecting on their journey at Sunway College Johor Bahru. In her speech, she expressed heartfelt thanks to family members, friends, lecturers and college staff who had been pillars of support. In her closing, this outstanding graduate's message rang clear to all present and encapsulated the emotions of every graduate that walked across the stage that day.

The obstacles we encountered strengthened our resolve, making this graduation a tribute not only to our academic success but also to our perseverance and adaptability.”

The ceremony concluded with the academic procession exiting the venue, bringing the formal proceedings to a close. As Sunway College Johor Bahru celebrates two decades of educational excellence, it proudly congratulates the Class of 2024 for their hard work, dedication and success. The college extends its best wishes to these new graduates as they embark on their next journey with knowledge, confidence and the enduring support of the college community.
