A-Level Goh Wen Hao’s Global Fencing Quest Begins Strong

Goh Wen Hao, a proud student from the Sunway College A-Level programme, delivered an outstanding performance at the 2025 Wuxi World Championship, finishing 27th out of 165 top junior foil fencers from around the globe.

Despite limited international exposure and training without a permanent coach, Wen Hao impressed by defeating the top-ranked USA fencer to break into the Top 32. He eventually faced world No.1 Semeneev from Uzbekistan and bowed out with a strong fight.

This was Wen Hao’s debut on the world stage, and his performance speaks volumes about his talent and potential. With continued dedication and the right support, he has the ability to achieve even greater heights in the sport.

Looking ahead, Wen Hao is set to compete in several major international events, including the Bali Asian Championship, FISU World University Games, Tbilisi World Championship, Singapore Tournoi Satellite, Turkey Coupe du Monde, Lima Coupe du Monde, Bangkok Coupe du, and the SEA Games.
