Alumni Engagement: Guest Lecturer & Sunway University Experience Sharing Session with Semester 3 Diploma in Business Administration (DBA) students

The Diploma in Business Administration (DBA), Sunway Diploma Studies (SDS), successfully organised the Alumni Engagement: Guest Lecturer & Sunway University Experience Sharing Session on 11 June 2026 at Auditorium 7, Sunway College, attended by approximately 220 Semester 3 DBA students taking FIN4113 Principles of Business Finance 1 subject.

The session featured Ms. Yap Zi Toong, a distinguished DBA alumna from the August 2022 intake and the Valedictorian of the Sunway Diploma Studies 2024 Convocation. Currently pursuing her final year in Bachelor of Financial Economics at Sunway University, Ms. Yap has built an impressive portfolio of academic achievements, competition successes, and industry experience through internships with Accenture and iFAST Global Hub.ai. The session was also graced by the presence of Ms. Nurul Aini Khatijah Yusof, DBA Student Coordinator.

The programme combined academic learning with alumni engagement. During the first segment, Ms. Yap delivered a guest lecture on financial ratio analysis, covering profitability ratios, market prospect ratios, and the practical application of ratios in analysing company financial statements. Her lecture supported students in achieving key course learning outcomes related to computing and interpreting financial ratios.

In the second segment, Ms. Yap shared her personal journey from Diploma studies to university life, offering practical study tips, guidance on selecting suitable degree pathways, and motivational advice on building a successful academic and professional career.

The event provided students with valuable insights into higher education opportunities at Sunway University while strengthening alumni connections and supporting the programme’s continuous commitment to student development.
