Gan Chia Lian: Winner of EY Young Tax Professional of the Year (EY YTPY) 2026 Malaysia

Sunway TES CAE ICAEW student Gan Chia Lian has been named the winner of the EY Young Tax Professional of the Year (EY YTPY) 2026 Malaysia competition, held on 8 July 2026.

The competition challenged participants to analyse an international taxation case study and demonstrate their ability to assess complex issues, present their findings and defend their professional judgements across the preliminary and final stages.

This year’s competition attracted participants from 17 universities across Malaysia, with Chia Lian emerging as the national winner.

As the Malaysia champion, Chia Lian will represent the country at the EY YTPY global finals, where she will compete against winners from around the world for the title of EY Young Tax Professional of the Year 2027.

Sunway TES CAE congratulates Chia Lian on this outstanding achievement and wishes her every success as she represents Malaysia on the global stage at the EY YTPY 2027 global finals.
