Inspiring Connections and New Perspectives: Cambridge Information Session at Sunway College Ipoh

Sunway College Ipoh recently had the privilege of co-organising the Jombridge Perak 2026, a flagship outreach programme by the Cambridge University Malaysia Society (CUMaS), marking the first collaboration of its kind between our institution and the society.

The event brought together 13 Cambridge University students who travelled to share their experiences and insights with 22 participants from schools and colleges around Ipoh. The session commenced with a welcoming address by the Principal, Dr Wan Nor Haliza whose speech set an inspiring tone for the day by emphasizing the importance of pursuing academic excellence, broadening horizons, and embracing opportunities for personal growth.

Throughout the programme, participants were engaged by the Cambridge student facilitators, whose enthusiasm, energy, and passion created a vibrant and interactive learning environment. Through informative sharing sessions, candid discussions, and engaging activities, attendees gained valuable insights into student life at Cambridge, the university application process, and the opportunities available to aspiring students.

The facilitators’ approachable nature and genuine willingness to share their experiences made the session both educational and enjoyable. Participants actively engaged in discussions, asked thoughtful questions, and had the opportunity to connect with current Cambridge students in a profound way.

As a first-time co-organiser of this initiative, Sunway College Ipoh is proud to have partnered with CUMaS to bring such a unique and enriching experience to students in the region. The positive response from participants reflects the value of creating platforms that inspire young people to explore their aspirations and pursue their academic ambitions with confidence.
