MUFY Talent Quest 2024: A Spectacular Showcase of Student Talents

The MUFY Talent Quest 2024 held on 20 September at Sir Jeffrey Cheah Hall, showcased the diverse talents of MUFY students, featuring 14 captivating acts, including singing, dancing, instrumental performances, and even jumping rope, each highlighting the variety of skills within MUFY.

This year's judging panel comprised Ms. Helen James, MUFY Deputy Director; Mr. Ryan Poh and Mr. Jayson Cheah, both talented MUFY alumni and emerging stars in the entertainment industry; and Mr. Terence Lim, Assistant Manager, Sunway Student LIFE. To add to the evening's entertainment, Ms. Helen James, Mr. Ryan Poh, and Mr. Jayson Cheah also delivered a special performance that delighted the audience.

The competition saw MUF X, a dynamic dance group featuring Yata Reon, Justine Woo Ho Yii, Chung Yi Juin, Loo Khai Yann, Goh Jun Min, Yong Chin Han, Kaitlyn Yuen Su Ann, Pong Xiao Xuan, Elizabeth Yap Yi Wen, and Amelia Ng Pei Ying, crowned as Champions. Their innovative and high-energy routine earned them the top spot and a cash prize of RM300.

Street Dancer, Maria Arabella Ow, captivated the audience with her powerful moves, earning her the First Runner-Up position and RM200. Following closely, Khoo Kay Shen Shaun, a talented crooner, claimed the Second Runner-Up spot with a vocal performance that won both the judges and the crowd, taking home RM100. Khoo's performance also earned him the People's Choice Award, chosen by audience votes, with an additional RM100 prize.

MUFY Talent Quest 2024 was filled with unforgettable moments, celebrating the exceptional abilities of MUFY students. A heartfelt congratulations to all the winners, and a big thank you to the MUFY staff, the Student Council, and student volunteers for organizing such a successful event.
