Project Sunshine: Sharing Time, Care and Connection

On 29 August 2026, the Social Responsibilities Department of the MUFY Student Committee (MUFYSC) organised “Project Sunshine”, a volunteering initiative at AiYiDe Old Folks Home (爱以德老人之家).

During the visit, MUFYSC volunteers supported the home through a range of practical tasks, including sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning chairs and dishes, changing bedsheets, cleaning the refrigerator and assisting with feeding residents. Online donations were also collected to support the home’s daily needs.

Beyond practical assistance, volunteers spent meaningful time with the residents through a collaborative canvas painting activity, a music session featuring familiar songs and a sharing session. These activities created opportunities for conversation, connection and the exchange of life experiences.

Project Sunshine was a meaningful experience for the volunteers, allowing them to contribute to the well-being of the elderly community while developing empathy, patience, communication skills and a stronger sense of social responsibility.
