SCI Career Week 2025: A Week of Learning, Connections, and Team Spirit

Sunway College Ipoh recently wrapped up SCI Career Week 2025, held from 17 to 19 September, a three-day event filled with career insights, alumni sharing, and student activities that brought both learning and laughter to campus.

Day 1 began with an insightful session on “Building Resume & LinkedIn Profile” by Mr. Mohammad Hariree, Human Resources Manager at The Banjaran Hotsprings Retreat. Students gained practical guidance on enhancing their resumes and strengthening their professional presence online. The day continued with a Career Escape Room challenge, where participants collaborated to sharpening teamwork, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.

Day 2 focused on both learning and engagement. The “Bad Interview” Improve Show provided a creative way for students to identify common interview pitfalls through roleplay, making the session both entertaining and impactful. The highlight of the day was the Career “Ask Me Anything” Lounge, featuring Sunway College Ipoh alumni guest speakers:

• Mr. Neoh Lean Wern, Senior Audit Associate, Deloitte PLT (ACCA, 2023)
• Ms. Wong Bi Qi, Graphic Designer, Lots Art and Design Studio (DIGD, 2025)

The alumni shared their career journeys, industry insights, and advice on transitioning into the workplace, offering students valuable perspectives and encouragement for their own career paths.

Day 3 wrapped up the event at XPark Sunway City Ipoh, where students took part in team-based activities including the Water Gun Game, Baling Selipar, Telepathy Game, Balloon Stomp, and Ice & Water. The outdoor challenges were filled with energy and laughter, while also building camaraderie, sportsmanship, and lasting friendships.

Overall, SCI Career Week 2025 successfully combined professional development with student engagement. It was not only an opportunity to prepare for future careers but also a celebration of learning, connection, and the vibrant spirit of Sunway College Ipoh students.
