SDS Hosts Cybersecurity Community Meetup in Collaboration with SherpaSec

Sunway Diploma Studies (SDS) in collaboration with SherpaSec proudly hosted the Cybersecurity Community Meetup that brought together a vibrant mix of IT professionals, cybersecurity students, and technology enthusiasts for an evening dedicated to unravelling mysteries and tackling the latest trends and challenges in the world of cybersecurity.

The event took place at Jeffrey Cheah Hall 2, Sunway University from 6:30 PM to 10:00 PM on June 20 showcased two key presentations on cybersecurity: Senior Analyst in Cybersecurity at Sunway Group, Ts. Zulhairy Zulkifly and Cybersecurity Analyst at Delta Spike and alumnus of Sunway Diploma Studies, Mr. Tye Khan Ren.

Ts. Zulhairy in his presentation titled "Unlock the World of Cybersecurity: A Pathway to Protecting Our Digital Future," emphasized that transitioning from academic training to industry practice is a crucial step in preparing for these increasingly complex challenges.

The second presentation titled "The Critical Role of Security Operations Centres (SOC) in Modern Cybersecurity," was delivered by Mr. Khan Ren highlighted the vital importance of Security Operations Centres (SOC) within the current cybersecurity environment.

In addition to these insightful talks, the event included a networking session that provided attendees with the opportunity to engage directly with speakers and peers, fostering valuable professional connections.

According to the Head of Programme for Diploma in IT and Diploma in Computer Science, Mr. Nicholas Jeremy Francis, Sunway Diploma Studies once again proves that they are at the forefront of educating and training future talents in cybersecurity.
