Sunway A-Level Students Lead the Way

Sunway College has once again led the way in Malaysia with the latest GCE A-Level results.

Over 53% of Sunway students scored a minimum of 3As, and with a remarkable pass rate of 100%, the successful programme continues to ensure no student was left behind, consolidating its position as officially the most successful A-Level College in Malaysia.

Over the years, Sunway College has demonstrated consistent track record of excellence in GCE A-Level. The College's dedication to providing a world-class education has empowered students to continuously innovate, excel, and make a positive impact on the world.

Director of Sunway College A-Level programme Ruth Cheah added, “The success of our students is testament to their dedication and the positive culture created by the A-Level team that ensures our young learners thrive and develop their potential.”

Further evidence of this programme’s ongoing unique success is that Sunway College also has the highest number of recipients in the 2023 Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards. The Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards is issued by the Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) and holds the highest benchmark in the A-Level education.

A total of 23 awards were presented to Sunway students including the First Place in Malaysia, Top in Malaysia, a High Achievement, and the Top in the World awards.

Honourable mentions include Cheng Kai Xuan, who received the First Place in Malaysia for best across three, and also Kelvin Ng Kah Kit who achieved the First Place in Malaysia for best across four, Top in the World for Mathematics and Top in Malaysia for Further Mathematics.

The students with Top in Malaysia titles were Lim Yi Ning and Jessica Gan Yee Mei for Psychology, Yeow Mun Hung for Accounting, Chia Yin Qi for Biology, Liew Er Jun for Chemistry, and Aishath Anaa Sobah for History. On top of that, Liew Zi Xian clinched the High Achievement award for Thinking Skills.

Furthermore, 12 students were awarded Top in the World for Mathematics: Chen Wei Yuen, Cheong Ruoh Kai, Gerald Lau Jin Yang, Leanne Tee Jie Ern, Lee Jun Yuan, Lim Zi Yong, Loong Yue Yen, Ong Zhi Hsuen, Ong Zhun Hao, Tan Yik Xian, Tan Zen Yii, and Wong Yit Jet, making up this illustrious dynamic dozen.

This outstanding performance underscores the effectiveness of Sunway College’s educational approach which nurtures academic excellence, critical thinking, and global citizenship.
