Hello Sunwayians!

Welcome on board, fellow explorers, to the 20th issue of the Sunway campus magazine.

This edition of The Sunwayian invites you on a safari of a different kind, one that journeys through compassion, communities, and conservation. As with any wild adventure, every stop brings new stories, new voices, and a chance to see things a little differently.

We begin at base camp, seeking campus updates and milestones at the #MostHappeningCampus to set the terrain for the quest ahead.

As we move further along the trail, we pause to honour long-standing partnerships between Sunway University and Lancaster University, because it is proof that the strongest ecosystems are built on balance, trust, and time.

So, explorers, eyes up. You may just spot Malaysia’s native wildlife, the incredible species that call our country home. A closer look reminds us that conservation begins with awareness, starting right here at our #CampusWithAConscience. After all, every small act of empathy and sustainability helps us move forward.

Along the way, you will also see creative works by A-Level student Khairina Aliya and MUFY student Shanice Lee, emerging like hidden gems along the safari trail and showcasing the creativity, talent, and diversity of our student community.

Take a moment to paws and meet the first foreign minister featured in Leaders’ Log, Hon Stephen Dawson MLC of Western Australia, as he shares his experiences in Malaysia and offers a global perspective on leadership, inspiring the next generation and strengthening nation-to-nation ties.

Toward the final stretch, we shine a light on stars within our community, the proud valedictorians of the Class of 2026 convocation, who are celebrating excellence, grit, and the adventure well travelled. Let us congratulate these brilliant individuals as they take their next steps beyond the campus.

As with any great safari, the journey matters as much as the destination. The world is a shared habitat, and the footprints we leave along the way truly matter.
