The Spelltacular Competition 2026 by Sunway College Ipoh

Sunway College Ipoh successfully organised The Spelltacular Competition 2026, which was held in two stages on 25 April 2026 and 9 May 2026. The competition served as an exciting platform for students to showcase their spelling abilities, English language proficiency, and confidence in a competitive yet encouraging environment. The competition began with the qualifying round conducted virtually on 25 April 2026 via Zoom, allowing participants from various schools to compete and demonstrate their language skills. Following an intense and highly competitive preliminary stage, selected participants advanced to the final round held at Sunway College Ipoh on 9 May 2026. Throughout the competition, participants displayed remarkable determination, focus, and confidence while competing against one another. The programme was designed to enhance participants’ communication skills and self-confidence while strengthening their English spelling abilities and vocabulary mastery. Additionally, it encouraged healthy competition among students and provided opportunities for participants to develop courage when speaking and performing in front of an audience. The event also emphasised the importance of attentive listening and concentration skills, as participants were required to listen carefully and respond accurately during each stage of the competition. The winners of The Spelltacular Competition 2026 are as follows:

• Champion – Thong Ng Phei Yinn (SMJK Shing Chung)
• First Runner-Up – Lim Jia Xu Jassin (SMJK Yuk Kwan)
• Second Runner-Up – Tharvin A/L Rameshwaran (SMJK Yuk Choy)
• Fourth Place – Nurhaziqah Humairaa Binti Mohamad Hafeez (SMK Ulu Kinta)
• Fifth Place – Danesh A/L Thanasegar (SMK St. Michael)
