Threads Reborn: Thrifting for a Cause

The Threads Reborn: Thrift Event, organised by the MUFY (Monash University Foundation Year) Student Committee in May at the MUFY Hub, brought together sustainability, community spirit, and generosity in support of a meaningful cause.

Featuring a wide selection of donated pre-loved clothing, unique fashion finds, and the exciting introduction of Clothing Blind Bags priced from just RM5, the event encouraged students and staff to embrace sustainable fashion while contributing to a worthy initiative.

Thanks to the overwhelming support of the Sunway College community, the event raised close to RM2,000. The proceeds were used to purchase a printer, as well as tables and chairs, for Blessed Learning Centre, which provides educational support for refugee children. These essential resources will help create a more conducive learning environment and enhance the students' learning experience.

Threads Reborn demonstrated how small acts, whether donating pre-loved clothing, making a purchase, or simply spreading the word, can collectively make a meaningful difference. Beyond promoting sustainable living, the event highlighted the compassion and generosity of the MUFY community in supporting children's education and creating a positive impact beyond the campus.
