VU @ Sunway Hosts "Your Future Your Path" Alumni Sharing Forum

Ask any student today about their degree, career path, or what comes next, and chances are these topics feel overwhelming. Yet, who has not dreamt of landing their dream job? What if, as a student, you could learn directly from the experiences of someone who has already been in your shoes?

This was the inspiration behind VU @ Sunway’s recent event, “Your Future, Your Path: What is the Game Plan,” held on 8 August 2025 at the Graduate Centre of Sunway College KL. The event brought together over 100 students from various business majors and backgrounds.

The programme featured three panel sessions, each moderated by senior academics from the VU Undergraduate Business Programme. Every panel comprised three to four VU alumni representing industries such as accounting, banking and finance, marketing, and supply chain and logistics.

The distinguished panelists included Ms. Amira Shazwin, Ms. Kimberly Mah, Mr. Ryan Chan, Mr. Wong Jin Weng, Mr. Darren Kee, Ms. Natalie Loi, Mr. Shawn Tan, Ms. Low Sue Ann, Mr. Tan Soon Jian, Mr. Teh Joe Wern, and Ms. Zabrina Asha.

Throughout the panels, alumni shared their career journeys, lessons learned, responses to student questions, and practical advice. These exchanges created a day of inspiring career conversations.

A recurring message was clear, which is to not resist technological shifts such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and sustainability practices, but embrace them as evolving tools that will shape the future of business. Alumni emphasised the importance of continuously developing new skills, not being discouraged by interview setbacks, staying mindful of one’s digital footprint, and building meaningful connections. Above all, they encouraged students to stay curious, actively seek answers, remain open to learning, and gain exposure to diverse perspectives.

The panelists also noted that leadership has evolved, and today, it is less about giving directions and more about being supportive and inclusive.
